Happy Birthday, 50 years Trucker Jacket!
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Type III trucker jacket, Levi’s enlisted 50 icons and influencers from around the world and asked them to design their own versions of the trucker jacket. And guess what? I was one of them.
Participants include Chance the Rapper, Solange Knowles, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Diplo, Justice, Karlie Kloss, Romee Strijd and Virgil Abloh. So for me it is such a big honor to be one of them!
The international launch was in the beginning of October in Los Angeles. The official event to reveal my jacket in Germany was last Thursday at Peek und Cloppenburg (there are two independent companies Peek & Cloppenburg in Germany with their headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. This is a blogpost released in cooperation with Peek & Cloppenburg KG, Düsseldorf. Its store locations can be found on www.peek-cloppenburg.de) in Düsseldorf.
Around 400 guests were invited. Next to a giant candyshop, drinks, a phenomenal cake (made by „Homemade We Eat Fine“) and healthy food by „Greentrees“, the party also offered a little Levi’s Stitching-Action. Everybody had the chance to put their own design stamp on Levi’s pieces at a Levi’s Tailor booth. The customization options included different patches and pins.It is all about personalization, right?
Every single patch on my jacket has a special/ personal meaning. For example the „Love, Mum“ sticker shows the close relationship to my mom. The (sparkling) dove I put on the back of my jacket, because nothing is more important for me than peace, harmony, grace and love (the symbols of it). I also wanted to glorify my generation with this jacket. I was born 1995, so I thought about this phrase: „We are the 90s“. Cool, no? Also I really wanted to have my jacket oversized.
You can buy my Levi’s jacket at P&C stores in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart and Frankfurt and online from tomorrow on at www.peek-cloppenburg.de. The price is 149,99€ and its limited on 50 pairs. I hope you like the jacket! xx Caro Daur
